Greetings to you!
We had a wonderful show at The Gallery at First. Thank you to those of you who were able to join us.
And thank you to those of you who bought paintings! I feel very honored when someone chooses to live with my work in their home.
If you check out my website HERE, it has all the new work from the show and an updated look.
And now, taking a deep breath after the show, I've been LOVING the impossibly beautiful spring and summer.
I normally have a very regular painting practice, but I have to confess it is hard to go inside, even to the studio. We've been hiking, camping, puttering in the yard and generally soaking in beauty. I love this quote by Brenda Ueland.
“The imagination needs moodling,--long, inefficient happy idling, dawdling and puttering. ”
I also just read a lovely poem by Billy Collins, "Aimless Love" which speaks to the joy of small simple things like these delicate lines on a wall. I love the contrast of the geometric and organic shapes which I used in this piece, "Traces of Meaning".
May you take some time to dawdle!
Here's to living creatively!
