What size of artwork do I need for my space ?

You've chosen a painting you love but how will it look in your space?
A common mistake is to choose a piece that is too small. Here is the rule of thumb when hanging over furniture like a sofa, table, fireplace mantle, etc. The art should be at least three-fourths the width of the furniture and hung 6"-12" above the top.  In looking at the wall dimensions, your artwork should take up two-thirds to three-fourths of the wall. Of course it doesn't need to be exact; sometimes an off-center piece brings wonderful visual interest to a wall, but when in doubt, you can use that as a guide. And the art should be hung with the center point at eye-level.
If you're uncertain about your space email me a photo of your room and which piece or pieces you're interested in and I can upload the piece and show you what it would look like.
If you find a piece you really like but it is too small, prints can often be made larger than the originals.
