This painting invites the eye into a deep field of blue, where warm fragments of orange, rust, ochre and red seem to surface and recede. The cool blue creates a feeling of speciousness and calm, while the irregular shapes bring flashes of energy and life. There is a sense of something emerging from beneath the surface and perhaps receding.
